 Jat Airways and the 2009 Belgrade Universiade formally signed the sponsorship agreement on Thursday, June 25th, in Jat Airways Head Office.
The agreement was signed by Saša Vlaisavljevic, Jat Airways Acting Director General and Dejan Susovic, 2009 Universiade Executive Director. Thus, the Serbian flag carrier gained position of the 2009 Belgrade Universiade official carrier.
This agreement crowns the cooperation with Universiade, which started last year after the joint publication of the year 2009 calendar titled "On the Wings of Universiade". Leafing through this Jat Airways "picture book" offers an elated introduction for a joyful experience of Belgrade. By choosing the sports-and flying-inspired illustrations in which the Belgrade University students exercised full freedom of expression, Jat Airways endeavored to arrive at the very essence of the of world's student sports meetings.
The 2009 Belgrade Universiade is the biggest world sports event this year, and the biggest sports event organized in Serbia. This huge and mass event demanded extensive preparations which included, among other, organization of carriage of participants from 140 countries competing in 15 sports and 208 sports disciplines.
For decades now, Jat Airways has successfully cooperated with our athletes and sports clubs. This year, when Summer Universiade celebrates its 25th anniversary, Serbia's flag carrier will be safe and reliable partner to young athletes from all over the world.
